Wouldn't it actually be a good idea to read the Bible?

I agree completely. I have read KJV, the American Standard, and John Calvins rewrite cover to cover. I have read thousands of other pages of christian text and I am still reading christian historical texts. I am still an athiest however and in my opinion modern christianity is a heresy. But I agree that everyone should read it, and I respect the individual faith of others.
