Fast internet service providers for playstation 3 online gaming. ?

Ive had a ps3 for awhile.. And been wanting to take my experience up into the gaming world. Problem is, where i live i dont have DSL/ or local cable companys that offer coverage. Ive tried at&t, direc tv, etc and none can help. I live outside the city outskirts. Ive tried hughs net but they charge a whooping $160 a month and in order for it to not lag i needed to buy the 190 package, thats way too much. Anybody can help with links or brodband or usb modems so i can start gaming online?
