Can a guy help me understand what's going on, and how do I save this relationship?

So I have been very close to my manager at work for two years; there are absolutely no romantic feelings here whatsoever, it is a very close platonic relationship. He ended up going through a divorce recently enough, and I totally understand this is going to take a LOT of time. Anyhow, I tried helping him in anyway I could, so I've given him about $140 cash, paid for miscellaneous items totaling up to $20, and I got him a $100 Best Buy gift card for his birthday because I felt like he needed more, I wanted to make him happy, even if just for a split second. Once he even slept at my apartment because he felt that by staying at his home, it made his ex-wife "uncomfortable." However...this was about a month ago. Now he won't talk to me at ALL, or even look me in the eyes when I asked him a simple BUSINESS related question....this was a man who helped me so much, and I don't want to lose him.
